India Registers Over 18,000 New Covid-19 Infections!

India once again reported a sudden spike in fresh Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours. According to the data released by Union Health Ministry, more than 18,000 new pandemic infections across the states.
In the past 24 hours, India reported not less than 18,711 fresh Coronavirus infections, taking the country's toll of total infections to a whopping 11,210,799. India's active cases rose to 1,84,523.
Looking at the fatalities related to the pandemic, 100 people breathed their last battling the respiratory disease in the past 24 hours, and the total casualties amounted to 1,57,756.
Six states, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Karnataka account for over 80 percent of India's pandemic cases. These states reported a spike in fresh Covid-19 infections.
Earlier this week, the Central government had sent professional teams to states that reported a spike in cases. The teams were sent to assist the health departments in curbing the pandemic infections and keeping a vigil.
In the recent meeting held with the states, the union government directed the states to not stop the "test, track and treat" strategy and increase the vaccination count for the beneficiary groups.
