India Reported 4,970 Fresh Cases, Toll Surpasses 1 Lakh-Mark

The deadly disease originated from the Wuhan Province of China is spreading its deadly wings in India as the cases are increasing rapidly. In the past 24 hours, 4,970 fresh cases were reported in India which takes the toll to 101,139.
The fatalities count stood at 3,163 with 134 new fatalities reported in the country in the past 24 hours. These figures show us the impact of the disease on the country.
The information provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare states that to date 39,173 patients were recovered from the virus taking the count of active cases in India to 58,802.
Maharashtra which tops the list with the number of positive cases also has the most number of fatalities with 1,249 followed by Gujarat(694), Madhya Pradesh(252), and West Bengal(244).
This is the second time, India reported around 5k positive cases in the country. Earlier India reported more than 5k cases which is the highest surge of positive cases.
