India Reported 61408 Fresh Cases, Total Cases Surpassed 31 Lakh-Mark

The novel coronavirus which is dubbed as COVID-19 by World Health Organization(WHO) is spreading its deadly wings in India, as more than 60,000 fresh infections were infected in a single day.
As per the Union Health Ministry, In the last 24 hours, India reported as many as 61,408 fresh cases which take the toll of total infections of the virus to a whopping 3,106,349.
In a piece of good news, 57,469 patients were cured of the virus in a single day. This takes the total infections of the disease to 2,338,036, with a recovery rate of 75.26% and the active cases stood at 710,771.
India reported 836 fatalities in the last hours and as of now, 57,542 patients succumbed to the respiratory disease in the country.
According to the data, India witnessed the peaks of the virus outbreak. As of July 28th, India's count of COVID-19 infections stood at 1.5 million-mark and by August 22, the count pass surged the milestone of 3 million.
In less than one month the total infections doubled adding more fears and concerns about the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus.
Andhra Pradesh reported 7,895 new infections on Sunday which takes the toll of the total cases to 353,111. So far, 3282 people succumbed to the dreaded virus in the state.
Telangana Reported 1,842 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and the total infections mounted to 1,06,091. With six fresh casualties, the total fatalities in the state rose to 761.
Looking at the global scenario, as many as 23,586,641 patients were infected with Coronavirus and 16,085,591patients have been recovered so far. The virus claimed 812,537 lives across the world.
