India Reports 52,050 Fresh Infections In 24 Hours

India yet again reported over 52,000 fresh infections of the ongoing pandemic in a single day as 52,050 new cases were reported. With this, the total infections in the country zoomed to 18,55,475.
On a brighter note, the total recoveries in the country mounted to 12,30,509, including 44,306 fresh recoveries reported in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate increased to 65.76%. There are 5,86,298 active cases in India.
As many as 803 people succumbed to the respiratory disease in the last 24 hours, which takes the total fatalities in connection with the virus in India to 38,938.
Talking about the worst-affected states in the country with the deadly outbreak of the contagious disease, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh tops the list.
As per the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) states that on Monday alone as many as 6,61,715 samples were tested for the virus, while as of August 3rd a total of 2,08,64,206 samples were tested.
Globally, the ongoing pandemic left 18,443,484 people infected with the virus, including 198,932 fresh infections reported in a single day. So far 697,189 people lost their lives to the virus.
