India Reports 64,531 Cases And 1092 Casualties In 24 Hours
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Aug 2020 5:21 AM GMTA Day after surpassing the mammoth 27 lakh-mark, India reported as many as 64,531 fresh pandemic cases in the last 24 hours, and the total cases mounted to a whopping 27,67,274.
As per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1092 patients succumbed to the respiratory disease in a single day and the total casualties zoomed to 52,889.
While 20,37,871 patients were declared cured and discharged from the hospitals as of now with a recovery rate of 73.64 percent. The toll of the active cases in the country stood at 6,76,514.
Maharashtra (615,477), Tamil Nadu (349,654), Andhra Pradesh (300,000), Karnataka (240,948), and Uttar Pradesh (162,434) are the top five worst-affected states in the country
Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) stated that on Tuesday alone as many as 8,01,518 samples were tested for the virus, while a total of 3,17,42,782 have been tested as of 18th of August.
Looking at the global scenario, the ongoing pandemic left around 22,295,155 patients infected with the virus, while 15,037,876 patients were recovered. So far 783,454 patients succumbed to the virus.
