India Reports 70,496 Fresh Cases, Total Toll Surpasses 6.9 Million Mark

The Union Health Ministry said, in the past 24 hours as many as 964 patients losing their lives to the virus. So far, a total of 1,06,490 patients have succumbed to the virus in the country.
In a piece of good news, India continues to witness over 75,000 Covid-19 recoveries over the past few days. With the new addition, the total recoveries in India rose to 59,06,069.
Active Covid-19 infections in India stood at 8,93,592. For the first time, the gap between the Covid-19 recoveries and active cases widened to around 6.3 times,
Telangana witnessed a dip in fresh cases as 1,891 new cases were detected in the past 24 hours, taking the caseload of the state to 2,08,535. So far, 1208 patients have succumbed to the virus.
Fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh reported 5292 fresh infections on Thursday, pushing the total Corona infections toll to 7,36,824. The virus has claimed 6128 lives so far.
According to the data collected by the Johns Hopkins University, the Global count of Corona infections mounted to 36,738,690. So far, 27,559,622 patients have been recovered while 1,064,373 patients succumbed to the virus.
