India Reports A Massive Dip In Fresh Covid Cases With 1,27,510 Infections

The data shared by the Union Health Ministry states, India added as many as 1.27 lakh new infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total count of the cumulative cases to 2.81 crore.
Looking at the casualties, the total number of fatalities in the countries zoomed to 3,31,895, after not less than 2,975 people breathed their last battling the virus in the past 24 hours. After witnessing more than 4,000 new casualties daily, India has been seeing a downtrend in single-day casualties.
On the other hand, the active cases in the country stood at 21,14,508, after a total of 2,54,54,320 people, including 2,55,287 new recoveries were reported on May 1st. India's recovery rate stood at 91.60 percent.
Five states, Tamil Nadu(27,936), Karnataka(16,604), Maharashtra(15,077), Kerala(12,300), and West Bengal(10,137) have reported the highest number of single-day cases in the country in the past 24 hours. These states account for 64.35 percent of the country's new cases.
Telangana witnessed not less than 2,524 fresh cases on May 1st, taking the total cases in the state to 5,78,351. After 3,464 people were declared cured of the virus, total recoveries have zoomed to 5,40,986. Active cases in Telangana stood at 34,084. So far, 3,464 people have succumbed to the virus in the state.
On the other hand, 7,943 fresh cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh after 83,461 tests were conducted. With 98 new casualties, the state's fatality count rose to 10,930. With 15,28,360 total recoveries, active cases reached 1,53,795.
