India Sees 1.32 Lakh New Covid Infections And 3,207 Casualties In Last 24 Hours

India witnessed a sharp rise in fresh single-day cases compared to Tuesday, by seeing a rise of over 7,000 single-day Covid infected in the past 24 hours. On June 2nd, India added 1,32,788 new coronavirus infections, taking the country's caseload to 2,83,07,832.
The single-day casualties have also increased in the past 24 hours after 3,207 more people breathed their last battling the deadly virus. So far, the virus had claimed a total of 3,35,102 lives in the country.
As a piece of good news, India's daily positivity rate remained below 10 percent for the ninth consecutive day. On Wednesday, India recorded a daily positivity rate of 6.57 percent.
India's recovery rate zoomed to 92.48 percent after the total number of recoveries rose to 2,83,07,832, including 2,31,456 patients beating the deadly virus in the past 24 hours. For the 20th consecutive day, India recorded the highest recoveries than the single-day cases.
Going by the data shared by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 350,057,330 samples were tested to detect the virus as of Tuesday, while 2,019,773 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
Talking about the vaccinations, India administered a total of 218,358,591 vaccinations for the beneficiaries. The nationwide vaccination drive was started earlier in January this year.
