India To Play A Single Test Against England In England
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Sep 2021 1:51 PM GMTThe fifth test between India and England that was scheduled to play at Manchester was canceled. England Cricket Board kept the blame on the Indian Cricket board saying that the management was unable to field playing eleven due to the Covid fear. The match cancellation resulted in the series getting to a pause mid-way with India at 2-1.
Now the insider reports say that the BCCI and ECB have come to an agreement that the remaining match would be played in England during India's tour of England in July next year for an ODI series.
It is also said that both teams will lock horns with each other for a single test and whether the test result will be included in the Test series is not known and the decision is awaited from the cricket boards.
Ahead of the fifth match in the series, the Indian team didn't show up due to the Covid outbreak in the team. Following this, the former England players have targeted the BCCI over the decision saying that the match was canceled to compensate the remainder of the IPL 2021.
The Covid raised a lot of concerts among the Indian players with assistant physio Yogesh Parmar testing positive for the novel Coronavirus, causing the ECB to face losses. While the BCCI wanted India to be declared the winner of the series, the ECB said the series should be drawn. After two boards having different opinions, the series was suspended midway.
