India Yet Again Reported Highest Slump In Single-Day Cases

In a shocking development, India reported the highest spike of single-day cases so far with 29,429 fresh infections taking the toll of the total cases in the country to 936,181.

The data released by the Union Health Ministry states that with 582 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, the total fatalities in connection with the respiratory disease zoomed to 24,209.

On a brighter note, as many as 20572 patients cured of the dreaded virus in the last 24 hours and the total recoveries of the disease mounted to 592031 with a recovery rate of 63.23%.

There are 3,19,840 active cases of the ongoing pandemic in the country who were being treated at various hospitals across the country. For the first time, the gap between the active cases and recoveries widened to 2.72 lakh which is a good sign.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Assam account for as much as over 80% of the total cases in the country.

Globally, the toll of the total cases stood at 13,462,460, while 581,316 people lost their lives battling the dreaded virus. So far 7,846,427 people managed to recover from the disease.
