Indian Aircraft returns with empty seats from Ukraine

The first batch of air passengers was safely brought to India.
However, the efforts to bring back Indians got an unwanted obstacle as an air vehicle that was supposed to come along with the Indians had returned to national capital Delhi with empty seats.
As per the information shared by news agency ANI, Air India flight AI1947 had turned back after receiving NOTAM (Notice to Air Missions) at the Kyiv Airport in Ukraine.
The NOTAM was issued as the airspace was closed by Kraine in the wake of the Russian army carrying out the attack. To keep the safety of the high-risk areas, the Ukraine government is said to have taken the decision.
As the Indians were stuck in Ukraine, the Air India airlines which came in handy to bring the Indians from other nations when the lockdown was imposed across the globe came into the picture and is running the flights for the war-hit Ukraine.
In the first batch, close to 200 Indians were safely brought to India. With Ukraine closing its airbase, the Indian Embassy had appalled the Indians in the nation and said that there is nothing to worry about and the government is looking at all the possible ways to bring them back.
While urging them to be safe, the Embassy had asked Indian citizens to carry all the required documents with them and provided a few phone numbers. By calling the numbers, the Indians can get the information and clear their doubts if they have any.
Besides this, the Embassy had also asked the Indian citizens to follow the social media accounts of the Embassy so that they don’t miss any of the required information.
Earlier, the Kerala Government had written to the Indian government to help bring over 2,000 Kerala students stuck in Ukraine. Saying that the government is very concerned about the tense situation in Ukraine and the letter is to seek the Centre's help in bringing the students back.
