Indian Athletes bag Gold and Silver in Shooting in Paralympics

On Saturday, India won Gold and Silver in the Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 shooting event. Indiaâs Manish Narwal bagged gold and Singhraj Adana bagged silver in the event.
With this, Indiaâs tally of medals rose to 16. Manish Narwal who is having a debut in the prestigious Tokyo Paralympics had bagged the gold with his shot of 218.2 distance. The para-shooter holds a world record already in the game. With Manish Narwal's Gold, India's Gold tally rose to three in the tournament so far.
Despite receiving a rough start at the tournament, Manish Narwal, the Para-shooter from Haryana's Faridabad made sure he will give a good finish to the game and win gold. The teenager had recorded shots of 8.4 and 9.1 in the finals and bagged gold.
Singhraj Adana bagged a silver in the shooting event with a shot of 216.7, which made him one of the rare athletes of the country who have won more than one medal at the same edition of the Paralympic tournament. On Tuesday, he bagged bronze in the P1 men's 10m air pistol SH1 event.
Earlier, shooter Avani Lekhara had equaled the record of Joginder Singh Sodhi, who bagged multiple medals of one single and two bronzes in the 1984 edition of Paralympics. Now Singhraj Adana joined the list of the athletes to add multiple medals to their names in a single edition.
The Tokyo Paralympics heroes are receiving praises and congratulatory messages from all the corners for their heroics at the prestigious event. From ex-athletes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi everyone is showering praises on the athletes for their performance.
