Indian badminton player Pramod Bhaga clinched gold in the men's singles (SL3) event on Saturday. After having a good start in the first set, Pramod Bhaga had won the second set with a close call claiming a gold. Against Great Britain's Daniel Bethell, the shutter recorded a win with 21-14,21-17.
In the first set, Pramod looked comfortable during the early minutes of the game with a 15-9 score. But his opponent gave a tough fight in the first set and Pramod had to sweat it out to take the lead in the first set.
In the second set, the Britain player came back strongly and took the lead initially. Keeping his nerve, Pramod gave his best shot winning the second set with 21-17 and winning gold at the prestigious event.
Well, he is also on the verge of claiming another medal in the mixed events. He and Palak Kohli will lock horns with the Japanese players on Sunday for a bronze. After losing the semis, the duo was given a chance to compete for bronze.
