Indian Woman asked to strip at Airport
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 April 2017 8:04 AM GMTIn a shocking incident, A Indian Woman who travelled to Iceland from Bengaluru was asked to take off her clothed by the security officers at Frankfurt Airport on March 29th. They finally backed off after her Husband who is an Iceland National entered the room after she brought the matter to his notice.
Shruthi Basappa alleged Security Officers still have their doubts even after she cleared the full body scan. She wasn't spared even though she informed them about her abdominal surgery two weeks ago. 'I was asked to remove the dress I was wearing. Yes. Remove my clothes. Is this the new norm? Isn't it enough to always be the one random person picked out of line that now I need to wrap my head around the fact that I might be asked to strip? Do I need to wax my legs? Do I need to carefully put together a special 'for travel lingerie' set that has nothing to do with seducing my husband but more about hiding the outrage, anger, humiliation and disgust that is an inevitable part of travelling through airports? Are brown people not suspicious if we have European Partners or Co-Travellers?,' questions the 30-Year-Old Woman on her Facebook page.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was quick to react on the incident. She sought a detailed report from the Consulate General of India at Frankfurt.
