Indian Woman forced to Marry in Pak returns Home
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 May 2017 12:07 PM GMTUzma, an Indian Woman, who was forced to marry at gunpoint by a Pakistani Man, came back to India on Thursday morning. She was deported to India a day after Islamabad High Court permitted her to leave Pakistan.
Indian High Commission in Pakistan completed all the formalities to bring back Uzma to India via Wagah Border. She was escorted by Pakistani Security Personnel till the Wagah Border where she was handed over to the Indian Officials. She will reach Delhi from where she hails from by evening.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted: 'Uzma - Welcome home India's daughter. I am sorry for all that you have gone through'.
Uzma has gone to Pakistan on a vacation earlier this month. Tahir Ali, the guy whom she met in Malaysia and fallen in love, forced her to marry him in Pakistan at gunpoint on May 3rd. He tortured Uzma post marriage and even took away her travel papers to ensure she doesn't leave Pakistan. Uzma approached Islamabad High Court on May 12th and the verdict came in her favor.
Uzma's Brother Wasim Ahmed thanked Indian Government and Sushma Swaraj for providing all possible help during the course of time.
