In a piece of good news, India registered fewer fresh Coronavirus infections for the third consecutive day. Compared to yesterday, the fresh cases witnessed a sharp rise.

According to the information provided by the Union Health Ministery, India registered as many as 38,617 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, which pushes the total cases to 89,12,908.

On Monday and Tuesday India registered 30,548 and 29,163 infections respectively. Data of the Health Ministry termed the cases reported on Monday as a historic low.

Looking at the fatalities related to novel Coronavirus in the country mounted to 130,993 after 474 people breathed their last battling the contagious disease in the last 24 hours.

As a significant development, India's recovery rate zoomed to 93.52 percent with as many as 8,335,109 patients beating the respiratory disease and getting discharged from the hospitals so far. The active cases stood at 446,805.

Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh are the top 10 worst-affected states in the country with Covid-19 outbreak. These states account for 76.7% of the total active cases.

Telangana's caseload mounted to 2,59,776, including 948 fresh infections reported in the past 24 hours. With 2,45,293 patients beating the virus, the active cases stood at 13,068.

Andhra Pradesh added 753 new infections, which push the total cases to 8,54,764. With, 13 new casualties, the total fatalities mounted to 6,881.

The global count pass surged the 55 million mark with 55,923,792. A total of 38,926,873 patients have been recovered so far, while 1,342,715 patients have succumbed to the disease.
