Amid border tensions with dragon country China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), India has successfully test-fired New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1) at ITR, Balasore.

The Missile (Rudram-1) which has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the country's first-ever indigenous anti-radiation missile.

According to the information, the Rudra missile was designed in a way it can be launched from various altitude ranges to destroy the enemy surveillance radars.

The single-stage warhead powered by a dual-pulsed solid rocket motor weighs around 140 kg. With the help of the optical proximity fuze, the missile is believed to suppress the enemy air defense.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took to Twitter and congratulated DRDO and the state holders for the successful fire-testing of the Rudras missile.

"The New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1) which is India's first indigenous anti-radiation missile developed by @DRDO_India for Indian Air Force was tested successfully today at ITR,Balasore. Congratulations to DRDO & other stakeholders for this remarkable achievement, " His Tweet read.

Over the past 15 days, DRDO test-fired five missiles and the Rudras marks the sixth missile that was tested by India amid border tensions with China.
