IndiGo Employee Succumbs To COVID
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 April 2020 5:08 AM GMTIn what it could be a shocker, an IndiGo airline staff member has succumbed to the dreaded COVID-19 virus in Chennai. The same was confirmed by the airlines and the employee works as an aircraft maintenance engineer with the airlines.
The deceased employee was associated with the airlines since 2006 and he is the first aviation personnel to lost his life to the novel coronavirus in India. More than 8,000 positive cases and around 260 deaths were reported in India so far.
"This is a heartbreaking moment for all of us at IndiGo and in this time of sorrow we stand with his family and request that we respect the privacy of our employee and his family," the IndiGo spokesperson said.
The airlines were in deep shock and sorrow to know that one of its employees who has been associated with them for 14 years breathed his last breath fighting the dreaded virus and sent their condolences for his family members.
