Infections In Indian Mount To Over One Million

The deadly outbreak of the ongoing pandemic originated from the dragon country China continues to ring danger bells in India as the country surpassed the mammoth one million mark today.
In the past 24 hours, India reported as many as 32,696 fresh infections were reported which takes the toll of the total infections in the country to 10,04,806. So far over 25,000 people succumbed to the dreaded virus in India.
As per the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 23,000 patients managed to recover from the respiratory disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 6.36 lakh. The active cases stood at 3.46 lakhs.
Looking at the worst-affected states in the country Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi are at the top place and these states account for around 70% of the total cases in India.
Out of the newly reported 32,696 fresh infections, 11 states reported the highest spike of cases in a single day. For the first time, Karnataka reported over 4,000 cases in a single day.
Globally the total cases mounted to 13,512,692 and as many as 583,359 people succumbed to the contagious disease. US, Brazil, India, and Peru are the worst-hit nations in the world.
