Infosys to hire 20,000 People in 2017

At the time when Indian Techies were worried about the mass layoffs, A statement issued by Infosys came as a huge relief to the software professionals. The IT Major confirms only around 400 Techies were served pink slips this year on basis of performance. Whereas, It is going to hire as many as 20,000 people this year.
Infosys COO Pravin Rao told: 'Number of layoffs this year is between 300-400 which is more or less equal to the previous years. We are actually adding more people and letting go of only few'.
Mr.Rao made these comments after a meeting with Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. He, however, refused to comment on statement of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy that layoffs could be prevented if Senior Executives of the companies accept pay cut & focus on employee re-skilling.
