Internet Connectivity Completes Silver Jubilee In India, The Country Has Over 75 Crore Users

The data issued by the telecommunications sector regulator in the country Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) states that as of August 31, 2020, India has more than 75 crore Internet users.
The count of Internat connections translates to 54.40 percent of the country's population. Internet connections like Broadband services and wireless devices have increased for the past four years.
In March March 2016, India's internet connections stood at 34 crores. The count doubles in four years, thanks to the Digital India initiative of the Union Government government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Digital Indian campaign aims at increasing Internet connectivity and offering government services electronic to improve the online infrastructure in the country.
The emergence of telecommunications company Jio also played a significant role in the rise of Internet connections in wireless devices like Mobile Phones and Dongles which offers better speed compared to other service providers.
Referring to the rapid growth in Internet connections, the TRAI's data said out of the total connections the majority of connections are from the Urban areas while many users use wireless devices.
As usual, Reliance Jio tops the list in terms of connections in the country, followed by Airtel and Vodafone.
