A total of 997 players registered for the 2020 VIVO IPL Player Auction out of which 332 were shortlisted as requested by the 8 IPL franchises. A total of 186 Indian players, 143 overseas players.
Pat Cummins, with a base price of Rs 2 crore, became the most expensive overseas buy as he was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 15.50 crore. Glenn Maxwell was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 10.75 crore while Aaron Finch was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 4.4 crore in the Indian Premier League auction on Thursday. England captain Eoin Morgan will be playing for Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL season as he was bought by KKR for Rs 5.25 crore. while Piyush Chawla signed for Rs 6.75 crore by Chennai Super Kings.
