Ever since the novel coronavirus has entered India, so much has been talked about the Indian Premier League (IPL). While some news states that the 13th Edition of the IPL will get commence while some news says it might not get commenced this time.

To take a final call on the IPL and to clear all the airs on this a cabinet meeting will be held today to decide whether to postpone the IPL season for a period of time or to cancel it with the coronavirus cases increasing in the country day by day.

Earlier the Maharashtra and Karnataka governments have written to the Centre requesting them to cancel the IPL this time with the wake of the COVID-19.

"All national federations, including the BCCI, have been told to adhere to the guidelines and advisory issued by the ministry of health and public welfare. We have also told them to avoid any public gathering and if a sporting event has to be organised, it should be done without gathering of people," Union Sports Secretary Radhey Shyam Julaniya said.

"The BCCI will take the best possible course of action in the interest of the game, the players, the fans and the league. The circumstances are changing and the board doesn't really have control over the situation. The IPL Governing Council is meeting in Mumbai on Saturday and have to take a call keeping in mind the diktat handed by the central government," a close circle of BCCI said.
