Irfan Pathan Mentions Changes Team India To Go through!
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Nov 2022 9:07 AM GMTThe wait to see the Indian team lifting the ICC trophy continued as Men In Blue were knocked out of the T20 World Cup in the semis. Rohit Men could not face the English team as they were completely dominated. From bowling to batting England surpassed India in every department.
The humiliating defeat made the Indian team face severe heat. There is also a demand that the seniors should be removed from the team so that the young players will play the aggressive game. Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is reportedly in talks for a big role to groom the young players.
Amid this, former Indian speedster Irfan Pathan made a few suggestions on how the Indian team should be. He made four suggestions to the team. Pathan wants the openers to play an aggressive game at least one. A wicket-taking wrist spinner is a must and the team should also have a tear away fast bowler.
"Indian cricket going forward 1) Openers playing freely, At least one of them. 2) Wrist spinner (wicket taker ) is must. 3) Tear away fast bowler. 4) please don’t think changing captaincy will give us changed result. It’s the approach what needs to change," Irfan Pathan said on Twitter.
Irfan Pathan also addressed the reports on changing the captaincy of the team. He said that changing the captain will not get a changed result and only the approach should be changed.
The points mentioned by Irfan Pathan hold a big value. Indeed, the Indian openers could not make use of powerplay and score big. Even with the small teams, the same was the situation. Both openers failed miserably. There was no fast bowler who could bowl at a quick pace.
The lack of quality wrist players in India was exposed in the T20 World Cup. Despite getting selected, ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was not added to the playing team and he could not play at least a single. England's team made the best with the spinner as Adil Rashid proved key breakthroughs in semis and finals. In both matches, Rashid took key wickets.
In the semis, Adil Rashid took the key wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav and restricted India to a small score. If SKY would have lasted till a few overs then the situation would have been different and we might have had a chance of scoring big in the knockout match.
