Is Andhra Pradesh becoming a Hindu Rashtra?
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Jan 2021 4:24 AM GMTOne major fallout of the spate of attacks on Hindu temples across the state is that every major political party in the state has turned pro-Hindu. The BJP is already known to be a pro-Hindu party. It has never shied from taking up Hindu causes. But, what is surprising is that all other parties too are turning increasingly pro-Hindu.
The TDP, which prided itself as a secular party, has suddenly turned saffron and has begun fighting the ruling YSRCP on the issue of temple attacks. Not only Chandrababu chanted Jai Sriram, but also said that Jagan, who is a Christian visits Jerusalem, while he, being a Hindu, visits Tirupati. The TDP has clearly adopted a pro-Hindu turn. Even Jana Sena has adopted a clear pro-Hindu stance. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was among the first to attack the YSRCP government over attacks on temple. In fact, the Jana Sena practically led the protests against the burning down of the Ratham of Antarvedi temple.
To counter the rising frenzy of the TDP, even YSRCP has taken to overt Hindu symbolism. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has begun sporting Tilakam and began temple hopping. He too is trying to sport the Hindu credentials of his party. On Wednesday, he is performing Go Puja at Narasaraopet. Watching all this, one gets a doubt as to whether AP is turning into a Hindu Rashtra.
