Is TDP's young face and the former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya planning to join the Jana Sena of Pawan Kalyan? Interestingly, the social media handles of the Jana Sena are buzzing about this for the past few weeks, but there is no denial either from the TDP or from Akhila Priya herself. This is giving credence to these rumours.
Akhila Priya is said to be upset with the TDP for not standing by her in times of trouble. Sources say that she has been trying to secure an appointment with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for the last year-and-a-half but to no avail. Sources also say that Chandrababu is unhappy with her involvement in the cases of land grab and extortion. Sources also say that Akhila Priya may not be given the TDP ticket in 2023.
Hence Akhila Priya is now said to be planning to join the Jana Sena. There are two major reasons for her move, according to sources. Both her father and mother were very active in the Chiranjeevi-led Praja Rajyam Party. In fact, her mother Shobha Nagireddy had won on the PRP ticket from Allagadda. Though he lost, her father Bhuma Nagireddy was instrumental in getting several MLAs from Kurnool district elected on PRP ticket. Since then, her family has close relations with Chiru and Pawan Kalyan. Hence transitioning into Jana Sena would be easier.
Another major driving factor is that her husband Bhargava Ram is from the Balija community, which is the equivalent of the Kapu community in Rayalaseema. As a result, the Balija community is largely with her. This community and Bhuma family's followers are a formidable vote bank and using Pawan's charisma, she has a fair chance of winning the elections from either Nandyal or Allagadda.
