It appears that Chandrababu now firmly believes that his son Lokesh may not be able to lead the party in 2024 assembly elections. Reports say that he is planning to lead the party himself for one last time. According to these reports, Lokesh may not be able to inspire confidence in the cadre and the leaders. So, Chandrababu Naidu is planning something big by October –end to position the party for the 2024 elections.
In fact, Chandrababu tried to project Lokesh ahead of 2019 elections as the leader of the party. But, internal surveys showed that the going was tough and that if Lokesh is projected, the party would be routed. So, Chandrababu decided the lead the party himself. That the result was no different and that the party was routed is another matter. In 2024 too, Lokesh is found to unable to rise to the occasion. So, he has decided to lead the party himself.
Sources say that TDP had decided not to contest from Badvel only to prepare for something big by October end. Sources say that it could be a massive padayatra across the state. Though there are question marks about whether Chandrababu, who is around 71 years of age, would be able to bear the gruelling schedule, the party feels that only he can revive the fortunes of the party.
If sources are to be believed, Lokesh would be asked to take care of the social media strategies of the party. In fact, he took care of the social media campaign in 2019 too. It remains to be seen if Chandrababu will turn around the fortunes of the party.
