Is Congress Trying to Plant Sympathy Seeds With ED Inquiry?
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 July 2022 11:59 AM GMTThe union government led by the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party is facing immense criticism that it is using the central agencies to target its opponents. The central agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) serving notice to Congress party president Sonia Gandhi to come for questioning added fuel to the opinion.
As Sonia Gandhi appeared before the ED for questioning, the leaders and cadre across the nation are staging a protest to stand in solidarity with her. The leaders find fault with the agency serving notice when there is no evidence against her.
The way the Congres leaders irrespective of their position participate in the protest raises doubt if the grand old party wants to bank on the sympathy. The leaders are talking about the alleged plan of the BJP behind the ED row.
If there is no evidence against her, ED will say the same and will give a clean chit to Sonia Gandhi. If she gets a clean shit then it would boost the party's image. But the leaders are cadre are working on getting sympathy.
Constantly saying how the Gandhi family has been serving the nation and the members were killed, the leaders are planting the seeds of sympathy in everyone's mind. Even Sonia Gandhi said she is Indira Gandhi's daughter-in-law before going for the inquiry. This says that the opposition party might be planning to play the sympathy card.
Though the protests planned by the Congress party went as per the plan, they turned violent in a few places. Now happy with Sonia Gandhi being called by the ED, a few Congress workers set a car ablaze in front of the ED office in Bengaluru. A similar scene happened in Hyderabad, where a two-wheeler was set on fire.
