Is Director Teja Interested In Politics?
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 July 2020 6:56 AM GMTDoes maverick film director Teja have political ambitions? The Telugu tinsel town is hotly debating this question. Teja, who is normally not known to comment on politics, made a statement strongly backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of banning Chinese apps. Not just that he said he would soon organise a meeting in support of the ban on Chinese apps.
Teja, who is from the irreverential RGV stable, is known for his maverick ways. He had never given inkling of his political choices. But, after the ban on 59 Chinese apps the other day, he has strongly come out in Modi's support. In a statement given to a media house, he said that since we have elected Modi as the Prime Minister, we must all follow him in national interest. We must work to ban China and all its products, he told a media house. He also said he would soon hold a meeting on the issue. Does it mean that Teja has political aspirations? Does he want to play a more active role in politics?
Interestingly several celebrities like Sandip Kishan and Himaja have come out openly in support of the ban on Chiese Apps, including Tik Tok, Halo and Shareit. The Central Government on Sunday night banned 59 Chinese apps citing reasons of sovereignty, security and defence of the nation.
