Is The Tide Turning For The BJP In Telangana?
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Sep 2018 4:47 AM GMTThe tide seems to be suddenly turning in favour of the BJP in Telangana. A month ago, there was a clear TRS wave and a facile victory appeared to be on cards for KCR. But, soon after the dissolution of assembly, things went topsy turvy and Congress fortunes looked blooming. The party managed to give an impression that it will unite the opposition parties and take on KCR. But, now things are gradually changing.
The much-touted alliance is yet to take shape. The CPI appears certain that it would not be a part of the Mahakutami. Even Telangana Jana Samithi of Prof. Kodandaram appears to be unhappy with the Congress. Kodandaram himself said that the BJP leaders were in touch with them. With two key partners gone, the Congress looks slightly weaker. Also, a spate of cases against the Congress leaders like Jagga Reddy, Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and Revanth Reddy has also shaken the party. The worst thing for the Congress is that despite these arrests and cases, it is unable to whip up a sympathy wave.
Meanwhile, the BJP is slowly gaining ground with Kodandaram looking towards it. Also, some big names in the TRS are also slated to join the BJP to give it further boost. Swamy Paripurnananda, the seer of Kakinada Sri Pitam and owner of Bharat Today TV Channel, too is likely to play a key role in the BJP campaign. So, will BJP cross 10 seat mark this time? If that happens, the BJP will emerge as a big player in Telangana.
