Is There A Match-Fixing Between TRS, Congress In Huzurabad?
X
Is there a match fixing between the TRS and the Congress over the Huzurabad election? Yes say those in the know. They say that even before the election dates were announced and the notification was issued, the Congress and the TRS have come to an understanding. The understanding is that the TRS will let PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy's wife and Congress candidate Padmavati win the election. It will put up a weak candidate and the BJP will chip in to divide anti Congress votes to ensure Congress win.

But, what will TRS get out of this? If our sources are to be believed, the Congress candidate has great friendship with an industrialist who is also close to KCR. The Congress candidate will protect the interest of the industrialist and her victory will also ensure that Uttam Kumar Reddy continues as the PCC chief. This also means the end of the road for Revanth Reddy, who is the only one who can take on KCR. Uttam Kumar Reddy is seen as a mild leader, who has no interest in taking on KCR. So a weak PCC chief will serve the TRS purpose and reduce the Congress to a useless opposition. In the bargain, the TRS will put up a weak candidate, says the sources. Losing one seat will not affect the TRS in any which way. It can always say that the seat always belonged to the Congress and it's neither a gain or a loss for the TRS.
If the sources are to be believed, a section of the BJP too wants to help TRS by putting up a candidate, who can cut into the anti-Congress votes.
