Is Kalwakuntla Kavitha's nomination for the local body MLC seat the most important element of KCR's succession plan in Telangana? Yes, say political watchers. With Kavitha ending her year-long hibernation after the shock defeat at the hands of Dharmapuri Aravind in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency, she is now likely to get key portfolios in KCR ministry.
Some sources say that Kavitha is likely to get all those departments that her brother KTR used to handle. This only means that KTR will climb at least one notch up in the power ladder and KCR will focus on national politics. Though there was a buzz that KCR would make her a Rajya Sabha MP, he preferred old party war horses to go to the Rajya Sabha. This has actually paved the way for making Kavitha an MLC. Once she is made an MLC, it will be only a matter of time when she would be made a minister, party insiders say.
