The name of S Janaki fills our ears with honey and it is not exaggeration to say that every Telugu house wakes to her songs at one point in their life. The other day, this talented singer was conferred Padma Bhushan award, for which she became very angry.
When her contemporary like Lata Mangeshkar was given a 'Bharat Ratna', it looks like Janaki is not ready to accept a smaller award than it. 'Had the government given me Bharat Ratna, I would have accepted it. I'm refusing to collect this Padma Bhushan', said Janaki to a TV Channel via phone.
