Is this Why Prof Nageshwar Is Contesting For Graduate MLC Seat?
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Oct 2020 3:39 AM GMTSometime ago during a session of the Legislative Council, KTR is said to have remarked to BJP MLC Ramachandra Rao that he is working out a strategy to ensure that Ramachandra Rao gets defeated in the next elections to the Graduates Constituency MLC. Ramachandra Rao laughed at the banter and did not take it seriously. But, now he is realisng that KTR was very serious.
He is now working out a strategy to defeat Ramachandra Rao. KTR is said to have planned to bring in Prof K Nageswar as an independent candidate. Nageshwar will cut into the anti-TRS votes and help in defeating Ramachandra Rao. There is said to be a secret understanding between the TRS and Dr Nageshwar. The anti-TRS votes will be divided between the two, while the TRS will walk away with the seat.
The TRS is planning to put up money bag Malla Reddy's son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy as its candidate. He will use the clout of his father-in-law, who is a minister and also leverage on the strength of the chain of educational institutions that they are running. He is said to have outsourced voter enrollment to the staff and alumni of the colleges and has reportedly offered incentives to them if they reach their targets. So, it will be a fight between Ramachandra Rao and Nageshwar, while the TRS would scrape through to victory.
