Indian Cricketer down with Chikungunya

Recently, Ishant Sharma was diagnosed with the disease. He is yet to recover completely from the ailment and hence missed out on playing the landmark 500th Test to be played by India.
Indian Head Coach Anil Kumble clarified no replacement was sought for Ishant Sharma for the First Test Match. Which means, Team Management is happy with the 14-member squad available. The Team will now rely on the services of Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav.
Ishant Sharma is the senior most bowler in the Indian Team at present. He took 209 wickets in 72 Test Matches so far.
