Ishant Sharma opens up on One Match Ban
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Nov 2015 7:21 AM GMTIndian speedster Ishant Sharma opened up about the controversial incident between him & Dhammika Prasad in Sri Lanka.
Ishant Sharma: "In a Over, A bowler was allowed to bowl two bouncers. But, Dhammika Prasad bowled three inspite of knowing that it will be called as a no-ball. I knew that Dhammika was doing all this deliberately as one of my deliveries hit his glove when he was batting. After the third bouncer, I told him he is too slow to hit me on the helmet. He lost his cool and then other Sri Lankan Players joined him. That's how everything began!".
The Indian Pacer says even the hot weather and flat tracks provided for the first two Test Matches in Sri Lankan were also a reason for onfield spat. He explains a fast bowler needs something to charge up for achieving something special and that led to the heated exchange of words. The bowler also reveals he was banned for one match for celebrating in the batsman's face after getting his wicket, not for the spat with Dhammika Prasad.
Ishant Sharma claimed 200 wickets in 65 Test Matches for India with a bowling average of 36.51. He is currently the most experienced bowler in Indian squad.
