The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C49 carrier from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The vehicle carried an earth observative satellite. EOS-01 and nine other customer satellites. The EOS-01 satellite aims at providing support to agriculture, forestry, and disaster management.

The PSLV C49 has carried customer satellites of other nations too. The vehicle carried 4 satellites of the United States of America(USA), four satellites of Luxembourg, while one satellite belongs to Lithuania.

The lift-off of the vehicle has been successful. The earth observative satellite EOS-01 and the remaining nine customer satellites were injected into the orbit successfully.

Notably, this is the first mission carried by the Research and development company ISRO this year i.e, 2020.

Before the launch, ISRO took to Mirobloggingsite Twitter and tweeted: "#PSLVC49 carrying #E0S01 and nine international customer satellites at First Launch Pad in Sriharikota ahead of its launch on November 07."

Due to a heavy downpour in Sriharikota, the vehicle launch was delayed by 10 minutes. The scheduled time was 3.02 pm. The vehicle was launched from the center at 3.12 pm.

Given the pandemic outbreak. The ISRO has closed the visiting gallery and the gathering of media persons was also rejected, media reports claimed.
