Income Tax Department raided the properties owned by former Tamil Nadu chief secretary Rama Mohan Rao and his Son simultaneously. The quid-pro-quo deals of has seen light during these raids.
It came to the notice of IT Officials that Rama Mohan Rao offered undue favors to his son Vivek during his term as Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary. Vivek owns as many as 500 luxury flats, an outsourcing firm and a hospital. About Rs 300 crore Government contract has been bagged by Vivek.
IT Sleuths seized key documents during the raids at his residence in Tamil Nadu. Vivek and his friend Bhaskar Naidu has jointly carried out various business operations.
After the completing of raids, IT Department served notices to Vivek regarding undisclosed assets. Meanwhile, Vivek sought time from Enforcement Directorate (ED) to appear for questioning pertaining to money laundering case citing his wife poor health.
