It's Advantage YSRCP In Tirupati
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Jan 2021 3:45 AM GMTThe political class in Andhra Pradesh has now fixed its gaze on Tirupati, where a bypoll would be held for the Lok Sabha constituency. The bypoll was necessary as sitting YSRCP MP Balli Durgaprasad passed away recently. Those in the know say that the opposition TDP is making attacks on temples a major issue and is trying to raise passions among the Hindu voters.
However, the YSRCP is confident that it would be able to tide over and register a convincing victory in Tirupati. The YSRCP is comfortably placed in Sullurpet, Gudur, Satyavedu and Srikalahasti constituencies, while the TDP is giving a tough fight in Tirupati, Venkatagiri and Sarvepalli. But the welfare schemes being implemented by the ruling party may come handy for the party, while the TDP is on the backfoot in few assembly segments. As for the BJP and the Jana Sena, despite all their shenanigans, the two parties may not be able to make a mark. In the 2014 elections, both these parties had secured votes lesser than the NOTA. In fact, NOTA was in the third place, while the BJP and Jana Sena came next.
The YSRCP feels that the hullabaloo over attacks on temples would subside only after a resounding victory in Tirupati. The party feels that its overall popularity is still in-tact. The party is strategising and is trying to put up a good candidate. It feels Tirupati win will answer a lot of questions.
