By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Dec 2013 4:12 AM GMTTRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao strongly opposed the move of central government to offer power of maintaining law and order in Hyderabad for 10 years to Governor. Stating that law and order is a state subject, He pointed centre should not infringe on powers of democratically elected government of Telangana. "TRS willn't be accepting power of maintaining law and order in Hyd to governor as it would make him/her a super council of ministers. Its an insult to T-people," he told.
KCR declared he would be appealing to prime minister to make necessary changes in the bill when it is placed before Parliament. He also opposed few provisions related to allocation of employees, distribution of liabilities and admissions into higher education institutions.
On Thursday, Union Cabinet approved the draft AP Reorganisation Bill and it was sent to President Pranab Mukherjee the very next day.
As per this bill, Telangana governor will have special powers to look after the security of life, liberty and property of all those people who reside in the GHMC region.
