The fight between two heavyweights in Nellore is fast turning out to be a source of headache for the YSRCP leadership. The battle for supremacy between Nelloreâs minister Anil Kumar Yadav and former finance minister and a member of the powerful Anam family, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is now threatening to blow up into a full-scale war.
Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is upset with Anil Yadav for ignoring him. In fact, Anil was Anam's camp follower at one time. But today, the tables are turned. Anil is a minister and Anam is just an MLA. Moreover, Anil is an MLA in Nellore urban, which is considered a borough of the Anam family. In fact, in 2019, Anam was dispatched to Venkatagiri constituency. Since then, a cold war has erupted between the two leaders.
Recently, Anil Yadav got the statue of Anam's father Anam Venkata Reddy removed from one of the prominent landmarks in Nellore city. This was done in the name of flyover construction in the city. Anam was not kept in the loop about this incidence. This made Anam angry and unhappy. In reaction, he has stopped inviting Anil to his constituency of Venkatagiri. He has also stopped the practice of keeping Anil Yadav's name on the memorial plaques in his constituency as per protocol. Instead, he is pasting a paper sticker with Anil's name on it. Once the programme is over, the sticker is peeled off.
Meanwhile, Anam made common cause with another prominent leader Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, who is also upset with Anil Yadav for booking his granite quarrying case. With both Anam and Magunta on one side, the war with Anil is threatening to assure serious proportions. The YSRCP top leadership is now trying to patch up between the two factions.
