Party Chief M Karunanidhi expressed the view that DMK quit as it is well aware of how a by-election will be conducted in the Government led by people who could influence judiciary and election commission.
The Former Chief Minister raised the point date-of-by-poll was announced within 10 days after the sitting MLA submitted his resignation. He said this is something very rare to happen and claimed to be well aware of how democracy will be heckled in the by-election.
RK Nagar Sitting MLA P Vetrivel resigned on May 17th as per the directions of party leadership. After swearing-in as CM, Jayalalithaa has to be elected as a legislator within six months and hence Vetrivel was asked to sacrifice his position. With DMK staying away from contest, A record victory will be cakewalk for Amma in the by-poll.
