The UPA Government on Tuesday declared Telangana as the 29th state of India. Have a look at the noteworthy points listed out by AICC leaders Ajay Maken and Digvijay Singh during the Telangana announcement.

1) Telanagana with 10 Districts and Hyderabad as its capital. It's creation will take four to five months.

2) Hyderabad will be the common capital of both states for 10 years after the formation of Telangana. Adequate arrangements will be done for the smooth running of both these states for the next 10 years. After 10 years, Seemandhra will have a new capital city in place.

3) Government of India refers the statehood issue to AP Assembly for resolution.

4) State Assembly has to accept the resolution or reject it, but can't ignore it.

5) Telangana movement can't be compared with demands in other states as it is having a long history.

6) The decision is neither having any connect to the upcoming general elections nor due to political reasons.

Finally, Digvijay concluded by reminding TRS has always promised to merge with Congress after Telanagana formation.
