Its Ponguleti vs Nama in Khammam TRS

All is not well in Khammam TRS. Despite several attempts, the group politics are ruling the roost. Electorally, Khammam is among the poorest performers with the party managing to win very few MLA seats. The MP seat was won mainly because outgoing MP Ponguleti extended his unstinted cooperation to Nama Nageswara Rao. But now, Nama and Ponguleti have become arch enemies.
On Sunday, the TRS had conducted a constituency level meeting in Madhira. The meeting saw a confrontation between Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Nama Nageswara Rao. Ponguleti, who is feeling slighted as the high command did not reward his suitably for standing down in favour of Nama Nageswara Rao, said that his followers were being singled out and were being denied key party positions. He said that those who were attending his meetings were being victimised.
At this, Minister Ajay Puvvada said that there were no castes and groups in the TRS and everyone who works hard for the party would be rewarded. MP Nama too joined the issue and said that the only leader in the party was KCR and that no one should encourage groupism. This comment was clearly directed against Ponguleti.
There were reports that an unhappy Ponguleti was in touch with the BJP and was planning to move out of the TRS as it has not recognised his 'sacrifice.' No less a person than KTR himself spoke to him and told him that his concerns would be addressed. But, nothing seems to have been done so far. It is in this backdrop that the groupism has come to light in Madhira.
