It's Reddy vs BC vs ST in Nagarjunasagar

The BJP has finally fielded Dr Ravi Naik as its candidate from the Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency. The BJP announced Ravi Naik soon after the TRS has announced that Nomula Bharat, son of Nomula Narsimhaiah, whose death has caused the byelections, as its candidate.
Now the caste lines are clearly drawn. While the Congress is banking on the Reddys, the TRS is leaning on the BC-Yadav combination as Nomula Bharat is a yadava. The BJP has decided on Dr Ravi Naik, a Lambada tribal. The constituency has over 35000 lambadas and the BJP hopes to get the votes of the community. Dr Naik is hugely popular as a surgeon and has worked in several areas as a government doctor. He has also taken up several service works under the name of Nirmala Foundation.
Finally, the BJP leaders have told Nivedita Reddy to withdraw her candidature. Nivedita is wife of District unit president K Sridhar Reddy. She as contested in 2018 elections and secured a paltry 2675 votes.
