Former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao accused TDP Government of compromising on the interests of the state for political gains. AP Government which accepted Special Package sought FRBM Exemption from Centre. Subsequently, The Union Government accepted the demand and asked State Government to create a Special Purpose Vehicle to sanction funds.
Post the end of alliance with BJP, TDP Government is now reluctant to create Special Purpose Vehicle and accept funds of Special Package in view of 2019 Elections. If State Government accepts the funds through Special Package, The version of TDP that BJP has done injustice to AP doesn't make any sense.
IYR Krishna Rao suggested AP Government to accept Rs 16,000 crore offered by Centre through Special Purpose Vehicle and fight for Industrial Incentives. This is the best option suggested by the Experts in the current situation.
If AP Government doesn't accept Central Funds until Special Category Status was granted, More damage would happen to the State. At least now, CM Chandrababu Naidu need to take the right decision.
