By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Feb 2021 2:23 PM GMTAP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister, YS Sharmila who earlier announced that she is bound to offer Rajanna Rajyam to the Telangana people is busy on the groundwork for this. She is holding meetings with YSR's sympathisers of various districts. Now Sharmila met students of different colleges at Lotus Pond on Wednesday. More than 300 students have attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Sharmila told the students to not see her as a political leader, but to see her as a common man and their sister. She urged them to be a part of bringing a better society.
Adding fuel to reports of differences between Jagan and Sharmila, she reportedly said that her brother doesn't want her to set up a new political outfit. She made these comments while talking to the media.
Sharmila mentioned the examples of TRS founder, Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao, and actor-turned-politician Vijayashanti and questioned where they belong to.
Her comments came as a response to leaders and critics who are questioning her on her decision to venture into Telangana politics. Several leaders questioned why she wants to enter Telangana politics.
When asked about why Jagan has not given her any post in Andhra Pradesh, Sharmila asked the media personnel only to ask Jagan why he didn't give any post to her. She said, her mother Vijayamma supported her in this regard.
The announcement of the new political party will be made soon. You fixed the date between May 14 or July 8. I will visit Delhi over women and farmer issues soon, Sharmila said.
