Jagan "Clears Decks" For BJP To Eat Into TDP

YSRCP chief and AP Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has virtually cleared the deck for the BJP to eat into the weakened and dispirited Telugu Desam Party. By admitting that his party would not encourage defections from the TDP, Jagan has made it clear that the only option for the TDP MLAs is the BJP. The TDP MLAs, who are unhappy with Chandrababu Naidu and see no future for the party in the coming days, are looking for an opportunity to leave the party. Most of them would have gladly joined the YSRCP without any conditions. But, Jagan said that they are just not welcome. He also indicated that his has no intention of denying the Opposition status to the TDP.
The TDP has just four seats more than the number required for the Opposition status. If the YSRCP encourages five persons to leave the TDP and join the YSRCP, Chandrababu Naidu could lose the leader of the Opposition status. But, Jagan has indicated that he does not follow immoral and unethical practices that the TDP had followed. It may be recalled that the TDP has lured 23 YSRCP MLAs into its fold to weaken the Opposition.
