Jagan Govt's Efforts To Pacify Employees Through Ministers?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 March 2023 8:46 PM ISTAhead of the much-awaited general elections in Andhra Pradesh, the ruling YSRCP is facing a tough time with the employees. After the talks with the government did not give a positive outcome, the employees are gearing up for an intense fight for their long pending demands.
The employees and the representatives of the bodies met the Chief Secretary recently and served notice on the protests. As per the schedule, the protests would start on the 9th of this month, which is a couple of days from now. All eyes are on the protest to see what the employees can do.
The state employees in Andhra Pradesh earlier gave a big shock to the government with the Chalo Vijayawada yatra. The employees and unions made the yatra a big hit and reached the temple town in big numbers. Despite the government taking strong measures the employees made the protest a huge hit.
So the employees have the potential to stun the government again. Keeping this in mind, the government is said to have sought the help of the Ministers. A meeting was planned between the Employees unions and Ministers on the long pounding demands. The Government is hopeful that the meeting would set things right.
Earlier, the employees' unions stopped the protest as the unions were assured by the Ministers committee that all the issues would be sorted. However, the issues are not sorted out and the employees are not getting their salaries and other benefits on time.
The Unions are also under pressure from the employees and they are told allegedly to not take a back step in the fight. If they get anything wrong then they might face issues with the employees. There are already allegations that the unions are not putting up a tough fight for the demand.
Amid this, the meeting is planned and all eyes are on the meeting. Before the 2019 polls, the employees voted for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as he promised that the CPS would be scrapped within one week of coming to power. But things changed later and they are not even able to get their salaries on time.
