Jagan's Mercurial Move Will Dash TDP Hopes
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Dec 2019 10:07 AM GMTYS Jagan is proving to be a past-master in checkmating his rivals. He is moving with alacrity to take the wind out of the sails of his political adversaries. Seeing that the TDP is gradually trying to get closer to the BJP again, YS Jagan is said to be planning something very big. The idea is to completely snuff out the TDP plans to rejoin the NDA.
If highly placed sources are to be believed, YS Jagan is contemplating joining the NDA. The party will also join the NDA government led by Narendra Modi. If the sources are to be believed, the party will be given one or two cabinet berths. One of the ministers will be Vijaysai Reddy, while the other is said to be Kapu leader Vanga Geetha. There is one vacancy in the Central Government as Shiv Sena has walked out of the NDA. In addition, one more ministry could be given to the YSRCP. With the YSRCP inside the NDA, the TDP will have to drop its plans to join the NDA. Moreover, the YSRCP will have a greater leverage with the Central Government and get the required funds.
For the BJP, the YSRCP will be a useful ally especially with President Ramnath Kovind's term almost coming closer to the end. The YSRCP has 151 MLAs, majority of the MLCs and MPs from AP. This will give a clear edge to the BJP so that it can get its nominee elected. So, this is a win-win situation for both the BJP and the YSRCP. Also, for the YSRCP, it will keep the TDP out.
